چکیده

Nano fibrous membranes core-shell of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and poly(?-caprolactone) (PCL), encapsulating 1 wt% curcumin, are fabricated by coaxial electrospinning technique. Morphology physical properties, as well the release studied compared with neat PLA PCL individually spinned. Morphological analysis shows for all samples obtainment fiber oriented in random way, without defect a narrow distribution dimensions (344 nm fibers 450 fibers). Mechanical performances barrier properties evaluated on found to be dependent fibers' composition morphology. Water contact angle is higher than 90° (from 103° PLA-Curc 128° PCL-Curc), expected since hydrophobic behavior micro/nano electrospun The curcumin from fibers, modeled modified Weibull equation, possibility fine tuning drug (up 15 days) produced materials, depending required application.

Coaxial Electrospray of Curcumin-Loaded Microparticles for Sustained Drug Release

Curcumin exhibits superior anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and analgesic activities without significant side effects. However, clinical dissemination of this natural medicine is limited by its low solubility and poor bio-availability. To overcome this limitation, we propose to encapsulate curcumin in poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) microparticles (MPs) by an improved coaxial electrospray (CE...

Au Nanoparticle Loaded with 6-Thioguanine Anticancer Drug as a New Strategy for Drug Delivery

In this study we suggested a new strategy for drug delivery of 6-thioguanine (6-TG) as a cancer drug by loading of this thiolic drug at a surface of Au nanoparticles. For this goal, we synthesized Au nanoparticle (Au/NPs) by reduction of tetrachloroauric (III) acid solutions by sodium borohydride and characterized Au/NPs by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), dynamic light scattering (DLS), Ultravi...

An oral malaria therapy: curcumin-loaded lipid-based drug delivery systems combined with β-arteether.

Curcumin (CC), a potential antimalarial drug, has poor water solubility, stability and oral bioavailability. To circumvent these pitfalls, lipid-based drug delivery systems (LBDDSs) with a high CC loading (30 mg/g) were formulated. In a biorelevant gastric medium, CC-LBDDSs formed particle sizes in the range of 30-40 nm. During in vitro lipolysis, 90-95% of the CC remained solubilized, whereas ...

Alginate-Based Composite Sponges as Gastroretentive Carriers for Curcumin-Loaded Self-Microemulsifying Drug Delivery Systems

Alginate-based composite sponges were developed as carriers to prolong the gastric retention time and controlled release of curcumin-loaded self-microemulsifying drug delivery systems (Cur-SMEDDS). Liquid Cur-SMEDDS was incorporated into a solution made up of a mixture of polymers and converted into a solid form by freeze-drying. The ratio of alginate as the main polymer, adsorbent (colloidal s...
